Blitz-It Friday # 25: giveaway week

Welcome to another week of blitzing! Well, getting ready for the weekend and the upcoming week, and I realized that instead of doing that crazy quilt and purple fabric project, I decided to work on other things instead. You know what? That's O.K. I had a plan, but plans change.

And this weekend, I am making another plan. And I'm suggesting (O.K. begging...) that you join me, so I don't feel like the only nerd-ball doing this. There's always enough going on around here, that if I do not attempt to get organized, it will just snowball into craziness... what about you? So, this weekend we have some special things happening. Can you guess? Yeah. GUESTS. I love guests, you already know that.

Expected Weekend Visitors: That's right, Grandma (and Grandpa--not pictured) Webber! We always do a lot of cooking when she's here, and maybe a few crafts! And maybe a birthday cake for a certain boy whose birthday we will miss because...

Mommy and Daddy are going here next week:

That's right, Dijon, France. Will is going for business, and I am just tagging along for fun. I will use his miles, and stay in his hotel and probably eat off of his plate (if he lets me). He leaves on Monday on an airline that they are doing business with , and I will take a different airline, Tuesday. His work is in the international aviation industry, so he flies often.

My work, on the other hand, is on the domestic, ground.. er... industry. I organize colored zippers, harvest tomatoes, and make interesting phone calls with my relatives. And I do not fly often. I can hardly make it out to Belvidere without calling it a "trip". So, this will be big for me.

Can you believe someone (I can't remember who) asked how Will was ever going to survive with me in France. After all, I am used to a big audience and he'll be the only one who speaks English in my world. His poor ear will be stretched out to the ground after an entire week.
When you are contemplating that idea, you may want to pray for whomever the lucky person who has to sit by me all the way on the non-stop flight from Chicago to Paris.. I think I'll hand them a pair of earplugs when I sit down, what do you think?

So, I NEED to get ready this weekend for the trip!

Weekend inspiration: Viva la France!

Weekend Tasks: Pack, Organize stuff for the nanny staying with the kids, cook and be with guests.. (that's probably enough) and.. decide on a knitting project for the trip! I can't imagine wasting 7 hours of flight time just sitting there and not knitting!

So, I'll let you guys take the ball and roll with it. Be sure to link up and have a chance to win this bag that I made. More pictures of the bag are here.

Don't be a lazy looser and miss your chance!

er.. I mean: Thanks for playing along!

New to blitzing? Here are some links to get you started:

Basically, blitzing is forcing ourselves to focus for a set period of time on hands-on tasks.
Read about the: one hour blitz and staying focused.
Also, blitzing with kids is a blast if you are an airchair general.

Glad you could join us! Now you have MANY choices about using the blitz. You are welcome to do/ try any or all of them.... and so many photos to choose from!

Your bag is lovely! You do such nice work. :) And France! You lucky ducky! I hope you have a wonderful time with your husband. And The Blitz - I need it desperately. I have so many things that need to be organized around here...it's driving me crazy.

Hi OM,
Thanks for being the first to follow my/my daughters blog. I visited your site for the first time today and looked at the one hour blitz link. I've got to admit that with 5 daughters and a total of 7 females in the house, I cannot even begin to imagine keeping all of them from talking to me for an hour. Maybe I'll try to set that as a goal. Or then again, maybe not. Building spacecraft in my backyard would be a more attainable goal. But I can knuckle down and clean for an hour, or three. I can hear the girls groaning now.

Well, Becky, that could explain the roaring success of this blitz theme---LOL. O.K. I'm done torturing my readers!! Eos Mom is getting the bag, and she deserves it! Next week, we'll all build space crafts in our backyard, and everyone will link up. Just kidding. I'm probably going to close out the blitz meme this week. But it's been fun and fabulous. I think I'll host a blobbing -out theme or something easier.

The bag is gorgeous! Congrats to Eos Mom!

I just want to thank you for teaching me the whole blitz idea. I still use it often. In fact, if you came to my house, you'd see my cute little picture schedule on the fridge that says "BLITZ!" at 3:00 with a stick figure child running along like a streak. I've never linked up because I don't write a meme type blog/don't post pictures ever. But I LOVE the idea and I SO appreciate your sharing it. When you write your book on how busy, homeschooling mommys can get organized, you should devote several chapters to the Blitz in its various forms.

Have a wonderful time in France. And take heart, you may very well meet lots of nice people who want to practice English with you (we sure did in Switzerland), and then you'll have plenty more audience for your chipper commentary. And if worse comes to worse, you could always plan blog posts.
