This reminds me of something that happened a few years ago. We went to a re-enactment at a local museum. The blacksmith they had working that day said his daughter was an award winning tomahawk thrower. He said he would have her out in the backyard practicing when a guy would show up for a date. Just a little intimidating I'm sure.

That looks like a picture of me over 10 years ago! I think it's great to teach the girls along with the boys how to safely and accurately use firearms...for so many reasons!

Great Picture!

My husband and I didn't have any boys, just 4 girls, so they all learned how to fish and have gone on many fishing trips with Daddy. My second daughter, though, really liked guns and went hunting with my husband a few times. For her 8th birthday, we got her a BB gun and she still has it. We also have pictures of her holding dead snakes and other critters. My husband is very big into gun safety as well as he had an unfortunate accident when he was a kid.

I did a double-take when I saw this picture. I have a picture of my daughter in the same pose. It even looks like her! Just a different background.

Wow! I never expected such positive response. I used to shoot guns at her age also. I grew up in a gun-safety kind of family, and I think it's better to know about them than to be afraid or misinfomed. Tricia: love to meet your daughter! My daughter has a blog. Does yours?

Buttercup can hardly wait until she's 12, the age the local shooting range will let her start coming for target practice with the rifle her brother is currently learning on. Her brother? He can't wait until he turns 14, so he can start using a pistol.
