Easy Granola.. called "granilla"

To make granilla, you have to remember the number 1.  If you can remember that, you can make granilla in your sleep.
1 container of old fashioned rolled oats
1 cup of oil
1 cup of brown sugar
1 t. salt
1 t. of vanilla or almond extract
1 cup or bag of nuts (almonds, pecans or walnuts)

Dump all into a big bowl and stir.
Throw it into a roaster.

Bake for 1 hour at 350 degrees, stirring every 20 minutes.
YUMMY!!

Jon and I live on granola when we can! I add so much stuff that most of my kids don't like it, but your recipe sounds foolproof. If people are really daring, wheat germ is supposed to be really nutritious, and I also add 100% bran flakes plus some dried fruits like dates and raisens.

Are you able to advise how much rolled oats that equates to as we don't have that particular brand in Australia. Many thanks.

ThanksOM. You can possibly buy quaker oats (I don't personally buy that type) but all our oats are in plastic bags or small boxes rather than the type of containers you have for some strange reason!?
