Tackling the Craftroom/playroom

I'm sitting here watching the Olympics as I post this.  If something sounds weird or stream of consciousness, it's just part of the program.  I force myself to get something  done during the day so I can indulge in T.V. watching in the evening--a whole new thing for us.  Who can resist cheering for Michael Phelps and the relay team?  That was soooo awesome.  Now we have synchronized diving--incredible!!   My DH told the guys at work about our family watching T.V. and somehow it leaked out that 1) we never watch T.V. and 2) we don't have cable.  Like what kind of idiots don't have cable?  Us.  LOL  How else do our kids read over 7,000 pages over the summer??

Anyway, I have been plunking away at the craft room.  I have no idea WHEN I took the before pictures.  This view isn't so bad.  Essentially the counter is cluttery.  I did go through and clean the cupboards and drawers.

BEFORE
Aaah much better.
AFTER
This area is essentially a long wall that connects two areas of the basement.  That big gray couch thingy is the back seat of our 15-seat van.  I'm not even sure what the rest of the junk is..

BEFORE
Moved seat to dungeon, moved sewing table under dry-erase board, got rid of a lot of junk..

AFTER
This was another snake-pit.  To the right is a window.  I don't like things in front of it, but here we have the sewing table.  Wouldn't it be a cute play area instead?
BEFORE
Same area: moved the play organizer over..
AFTER
This used to be upstairs in the entry-way.
AFTER
And now we have a cute-cuddly space!!  There's something about this area that says, "play here"!!
AFTER

And Mommy can sew at the same time!!

Looks very nice! (BTW, we don't have cable either and rarely watch TV. You'd think were were from Mars....)

Wow, I am tired reading this. What a great job you did and I love your craft area. I miss not having a designated spot to do my crafts...that is why I do very little now. Thanks for sharing

I'm getting tired reading my own blog too, Niki. With all of these contests, I'm running out of stuff to organize. LOL. Anybody, anybody need anything organized?
