Works for Me Wednesday: more homemade gifts!

This Saturday the ladies from our chapel got together for a craft day.  It was so neat!  There were four gifts for each participant to make.
They were all simple to put together, but the organizers did a lot of  prep work for us.
Here were the projects: A handmade potholder, a photo album, a friendship kit and Sand Art Brownies.

The brownie mix was put in a jar, with a decorative topper and a pretty gift tag.
Here's the order/ amount of what goes in the jar:

1/2 t. salt
5/8 cup  flour (1/2 cup +2T)
1/3 cup cocoa powder
1/2 cup flour
2/3 cup brown sugar
2/3 cup white sugar
1/2 cup chocolate chips
1/2 cup white chocolate chips

Here's what you write on the tag that attaches to the jar:

Sand Art Brownies
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
2. Grease a 9x9 baking pan.
3. Stir in: 1 t. vanilla, 2/3 cup vegetable oil and 3 eggs.  Beat until just combined.
4. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 350 degrees for 20-25 minutes.

It was so neat to go from station to station, making things.

And NO, I had no part in planning this event.  It was all the lovely, talented women of my local church.  For more ideas, check out Works for Me Wednesday.

This sounded like a very nice event. I love the brownies-in-a- jar idea. The girls will really enjoy putting these together as gifts. Thanks!

Thank you for sharing this recipe. I've seen these brownies-in-a-jar at the store, but I figured I could find a way to make them myself.
What a fun day. :)

That looks like so much fun! What a wonderful (and practical!) event. Those brownies sound great, and the mix looks so pretty in the jar.
